Screen printing is the process of pressing ink into a screen made of mesh that’s on top of a stencil design. This process immediately transfers the image right on top of the material underneath it. In the past, these designs had to be done by hand. Today, screens are made with a special photo emulsion coating. When introduced to UV light, this produces a beautiful negative image of the design.
The term “silk-screening” refers to screens that are equipped with silk mesh. However, screens today are made with aluminum or wood frames and polyester mesh instead. Separate screens print each color individually, either by manual or automatic printing. Manual printing requires someone to hold a squeegee while automatic printing requires a machine to hold and pull the squeegee.
Our pricing is determined by the amount of colors within the design. Printing on dark items can also raise the price due to the fact that it requires an under base that is white.
