The Screen Printing Process

How Does Screen Printing Work?

Screen printing uses a stencil (or screen) made of mesh with a photo emulsion coating. When exposed to UV light, this creates a precise image of your design. Ink is then pressed through the screen directly onto the fabric underneath.

Each color in your design requires its own screen, which is why color count affects pricing. Our automatic presses ensure consistent, accurate results on every single garment.

Why it matters: Automatic printing eliminates human inconsistency, meaning your 500th shirt looks just as sharp as your 1st.

SUBLIMATION PRINTING

What Is Sublimation Printing?

Sublimation printing uses heat to bond specialized dye directly into polyester fibers, creating full-color, photo-quality designs that will never peel, crack, or fade.

Unlike screen printing, sublimation works best on white or light-colored 100% polyester garments and performance wear, making it the perfect choice for custom team uniforms and athletic apparel with unlimited colors.
Perfect for: Team uniforms, all-over print apparel, athletic jerseys, and performance wear where vivid detail, unlimited color, and durability matter.

Pricing by Color Count

Our pricing is determined by the number of colors in your design. Printing on dark items requires a white underbase, which can affect pricing. We’re always transparent about costs upfront.

Screen Printing FAQ

How much does screen printing cost?

Pricing is based on two factors: the number of ink colors in your design and the quantity of garments. More colors = more screens = slightly higher cost per piece. Larger quantities = lower cost per piece. Printing on dark fabrics also requires a white underbase layer, which adds a small cost but ensures your colors look exactly as intended. Screen printing presses ink onto the surface of fabric, ideal for bold, solid-color designs on cotton or cotton blends. Sublimation bonds dye directly into polyester fibers, creating full-color, all-over prints that never fade or peel. Screen printing works on most fabric colors; sublimation works best on white or light-colored 100% polyester. Not sure which is right for you? Contact us and we will help you decide.

Our minimum order for screen printing is 12 pieces. This is one of the lowest minimums in the Tampa Bay area, no need to order 50 or 100 shirts just to get started. Whether you need a dozen shirts for a small event or hundreds for a large team, we can help.
Dark fabrics require a white ink underbase layer before your actual colors are applied. This extra step requires an additional screen and an extra pass through the press, which adds a small cost. The underbase ensures your colors stay bright and true, without it, colors printed directly on dark fabric would look dull or washed out.
